Internships

We run a Summer Internship programme in Tessella’s Abingdon office, tailored towards students currently undertaking undergraduate degrees in physics at Oxford University. We look for individuals with strong problem solving, software development and communication skills, and have found that students from many of our target universities are often an excellent fit for our organization.

The work provides an excellent experience of working with professional software engineers, who have also come from a scientific background, to deliver a complex software solution. You will get first-hand experience of professional software development on real projects for our clients. You will have the opportunity to spend time shadowing our consultants as they meet with clients for both pre-sales and project related meetings. This is a really good opportunity to see inside not just our company at work, but also our clients, offering a much broader work experience than you might expect.

There is some flexibility in the terms of the internship to ensure a fit with individual’s availability, but we would expect it to last for between 12-16 weeks.

The internship is arranged, and the intern is selected, through our direct links with Oxford University.
